The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is spearheading the participation of 14 Thai tourism operators at ITB Asia 2026, held at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, until October 23. This strategic initiative aims to strengthen Thailand’s international tourism business by targeting high-value travelers with a distinct focus on wellness and sustainable tourism sectors. The event is anticipated to facilitate at least 266 business appointments between Thai operators and international buyers, thereby fostering expanded commercial opportunities and greater market penetration.

Deputy Governor Kittipong Prapattong, responsible for Asia and South Pacific marketing, officially inaugurated the Thailand Pavilion, an interactive showcase embodying TAT’s 4 NEWs marketing strategy, which seeks to attract diverse new traveler segments. The pavilion is themed “Thai Sanctuary: The Layer of Well-Being,” highlighting immersive cultural and wellness experiences intrinsic to Thailand’s tourism appeal. Notably, it features an AI-powered photo booth that engages visitors by presenting a vivid introduction to Thailand’s varied attractions, cuisine, and recreational activities, thereby enhancing visitor interaction and interest.

Singapore continues to be a critical source market for Thailand’s inbound tourism, with recorded arrivals reaching 673,114 between January 1 and October 19, 2026. Analysis by TAT reveals that over 86% of these visitors are repeat travelers, who contribute significantly through an average expenditure of more than 45,000 baht per trip and an average stay duration of 4.7 days. Aligning with these insights, TAT has set an ambitious target of attracting over 1.12 million Singaporean visitors by the end of the year 2026, solidifying Singapore’s position as a key market for Thailand’s tourism growth.

To bolster this strategy, TAT is actively collaborating with prominent partners including Singapore Airlines, KKday, Klook, and Trip.com to implement joint promotional campaigns. These collaborations emphasize competitive airfares and curated travel experiences designed to enhance accessibility and appeal, thereby stimulating demand and sustaining the momentum of inbound tourism from Singapore. Overall, TAT’s comprehensive approach at ITB Asia 2026 underscores its commitment to advancing Thailand’s sustainable tourism agenda while capturing new high-value traveler segments through innovative marketing and strategic partnerships.
