Improving Shanghai’s Business Deregistration Procedures

Shanghai is streamlining business deregistration procedures to make it easier for companies to exit the market. The government bureaus in Shanghai have released Opinions aiming to simplify the process by implementing digital services and allowing companies to suspend operations without facing consequences. These efforts are in line with national initiatives to support foreign and private investment starting in 2023.

Efforts to Simplify Shanghai’s Business Deregistration

The Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation (AMR) and other government bureaus have jointly released Opinions to facilitate business deregistration procedures in the city. These initiatives include reforming simplified deregistration procedures, improving digital services, and allowing companies to suspend operations without fear of reprisals. The Opinions aim to enhance the ease of doing business and reduce administrative burdens on companies operating in Shanghai.
