HONG KONG, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — A KUN Group company has received approval-in-principle from the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) for Type 1 (dealing in securities), Type 4 (advising on securities) and Type 9 (asset management) regulated activities. The Type 1 and Type 4 scopes include virtual asset-related activities and the provision of services to retail clients, while the Type 9 scope covers general asset management.
This was KUN’s first application for these regulated activities, and it received approval-in-principle for all three. The Type 1 and Type 4 scopes also cover both virtual asset-related activities and retail client services. Against the SFC’s stringent fit-and-proper, competence and internal-control requirements, this represents an important milestone in KUN’s regulatory footprint in Hong Kong.
KUN currently operates across four core pillars: Cross-Border Digital Payments, On-Chain Finance, Card Issuing and Agentic Payments. Subject to obtaining the necessary licences and approvals and meeting applicable regulatory requirements, KUN plans to explore further opportunities across virtual asset-related services, digital asset treasury management, asset and wealth management, supply chain finance, and asset tokenization.
In Hong Kong, KUN Group entities also hold licences and registrations including a Money Service Operator (MSO) licence, Trust or Company Service Provider (TCSP) licence, registration as a trust company under the Trustee Ordinance (Cap. 29), and a Money Lenders Licence. Beyond Hong Kong, KUN has established a regulatory footprint across the United States, Canada and Europe, including MSB registrations in the United States and Canada and VASP registration in Poland, while continuing to advance its regulatory initiatives across Singapore, the Middle East and other priority markets.
KUN is an innovative financial infrastructure company centered on digital payments and embedded finance. Built on a globally distributed licensing framework and a robust compliance and risk-management system, KUN connects Asia with high-growth emerging markets across Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Positioned as a trusted vertical digital payments platform for real economies, the company operates across four core pillars—Cross-Border Digital Payments, On-Chain Finance, Card Issuing, and Agentic Payments. By integrating artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies, KUN delivers secure, compliant, and efficient one-stop payment and transaction services for enterprise clients across industries including Bulk Commodity, General Trade, B2B E-Commerce, Service Trade, Web3 Ecosystems and AI Applications.
