Twave, operator of imin: "In discussions with financial groups and digital banks in Japan, Taiwan and other East Asian markets on white-label collaboration"

SEOUL, South Korea, Aug. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Twave (CSO Hyunmin Song), the company behind the social fintech platform imin, is accelerating its push into global markets, holding discussions with local financial groups and digital banks in major Asian markets including Japan and Taiwan on white-label partnerships.

Speaking at the ASEAN Tech Summit 2026, Song said, "We are in discussions with local financial groups and digital banks in key markets including Japan and Taiwan on white-label collaboration," adding, "We plan to expand imin’s model beyond Korea into global markets."

Under a white-label arrangement, a partner applies the imin engine to its own customer base to launch a localized community savings product. Partners can offer a new financial product without building one from the ground up, while users continue to save in ways already familiar to them. According to the company, by building on savings customs already embedded in everyday life, partners can grow both deposits and customer engagement (retention) at relatively low cost.

"What matters most in regional expansion is not technology alone, but localization strategy," Song said. "By working with proven local partners on a white-label basis, we will design everything together from day one — from a user experience that fits the local culture to compliance."

The ASEAN Tech Summit 2026, where Song outlined this vision, was held on July 28–29 at the Manila Marriott Hotel, drawing some 4,000 attendees including global executives, regulators and investors. Song took part as a Delegate of the KORFIN (Korea FinTech Industry Association) Global Expansion Committee in the panel session "One Asia, One Digital Future," moderated by Ian Fong of Money20/20.

The panel also brought together fintech leaders representing markets across Asia, including Jaclyn Tsai, Chair of the Asia FinTech Alliance (AFA); Lito Villanueva, Founding Chairman of FinTech Alliance.PH; Marshall Pribadi, CEO of Indonesian digital identity company Privy; and Wilson Beh, President of the FinTech Association of Malaysia (FAOM).

What partners gain through a white-label partnership is the digital community savings model that imin has validated in live operation. Rotating savings and credit associations (ROSCAs) are long-standing customs in everyday finance across the region — paluwagan in the Philippines, arisan in Indonesia and hội in Vietnam. imin has brought this traditional savings practice online, combining it with real-name verification and its proprietary behavior-based credit scoring engine, "I-CSS." The platform also applies safeguards so that if one member falls behind on payments, the other members are not affected.

Separately, Twave said imin’s cumulative transaction volume reached KRW 3.4289 trillion (approximately USD 2.43 billion) as of July 2026, with a delinquency rate of 0.22% over more than eight years of operation. The company described this as a stable level compared with consumer finance and BNPL models, which typically run at 5–10%.
