TIME magazine has released its list of ‘The World’s Greatest Places of 2023’, featuring 50 extraordinary destinations to explore. Among them are Isan (the Northeast) and Phuket in Thailand. Isan is praised for its diverse and delicious culinary offerings, as well as its national parks, Khmer temple ruins, and Michelin-recommended restaurants. The area is also home to Khao Yai, Thailand’s first national park. Phuket, Thailand’s most visited region, is highlighted for its family appeal with the opening of Carnival Magic, a culturally-focused theme park. The island also offers voluntourism initiatives, such as the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary, and luxury lodges in its uncrowded countryside. The list includes a variety of attractions, from hotels and restaurants to museums and natural wonders.
