Thailand has seen 19 million foreign tourists between January and September, bringing in $22.26 billion in revenue. The government believes the tourism situation is improving, and the visa waiver for Chinese visitors will further aid the sector. The government aims to attract 28 million tourists this year, particularly from China. Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin plans to visit China to discuss bilateral relations and tourism cooperation. China was a major source of tourists for Thailand before the pandemic, with 11 million visitors in 2019.
