The Board of Investment (BOI) in Thailand has collaborated with the Bank of China and the City of Shanghai to organise the “Invest in Shanghai, Share the Future” event. This event has led to the promotion of trade and investment between China and Thailand. The BOI reports that Shanghai has established a strategy to attract investment in the Shanghai Lin-gang Special Area, promoting digital ventures, smart electronics, EVs and health and medicine. The BOI believes that these industries link Thailand and China in their promotion of S-Curve industrial development. The BOI highlighted Thailand’s strategic location, transportation, logistics and infrastructure systems, and its industrial estates such as the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) as potential opportunities for investment co-operation. Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha is happy with the progress already made.
